Description
The Department of Human Services is searching for a Registered Dietitian Part-time (up to 30 hrs/week).
Develop menus and nutrition analysis, nutrition education, provide nutrition counseling and other sanitation and nutrition tools for use in the Senior Nutrition Program. Provide technical assistance for the Area Agency on Aging's nutrition program.
Primary office location will be in the Greeley office and Greeley/Weld Meals on Wheels. Reliable, predictable attendance within department business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday as schedule dictates.
This position offers the flexibility of part-time work (30 hours per week) combined with the added benefit of our .75 benefits package.

Requirements
Required Education
Must be a Registered Dietitian that meets the Commission on Dietetic Registration standards.
Experience Qualifications
1 year full time work experience providing nutritional information to clients or public.
Preferred Experience
Experience in the field of long-term care or another adult or aging program.
Experience working with Community Partners.
Experience educating or presenting information to the public in a human services environment.
ServSafe Certified
Skills and Abilities
Candidate must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license and liability Insurance by the employment start date and maintain for the duration of employment.
Candidate must provide own transportation and be willing to travel throughout Weld County.
Candidate must pass a background check prior to employment start date.
Candidate must possess the ability to enter data into several different computer programs.
Candidate must possess the ability to learn and apply new computer skills on a regular basis.
Candidate must possess knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Windows and Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Candidate must possess the ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and department policies and procedures. Ability to write correspondence.
Candidate must possess the ability to effectively communicate in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Candidate must possess the ability to apply math concepts and calculations in the work environment.
Candidate must possess the ability to apply common sense to problem solve in a work environment.
Candidate must possess the ability to adapt to fast paced, high volume and ever-changing work environment and be able to handle high stress situations.
Candidate must attend all appropriate state trainings, the senior nutrition committee and maintain participation in the state nutrition directors’ meetings and other appropriate meetings.
Candidate must understand and follow all Volume X regulations, Colorado Retail Food Establishment Rules and Regulations, the Colorado Department of Human Services’ Aging and Adult Services Unit’s policies and procedures, and the Weld County Area Agency on Aging Nutrition Program’s policies and procedures.
Candidate must pass criminal background check prior to employment start date.

Candidate must pass a Colorado Adult Protective Services (CAPS) check and will continue to be monitored by CAPS throughout employment. Required
Candidate must submit college transcripts prior to the first day of employment. Required
Driving is essential in this position.
Candidate must have a valid Driver’s License and Liability Insurance Upon Hire Required
Candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) evaluation and if hired, will be subject to continuous monthly MVR monitoring throughout employment. Candidate must provide own transportation and be willing to travel as needed to meet the essential functions of the position. Required
Pre-employment substance screening is required for this position.
This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening. Employment is contingent upon successfully passing the screening in accordance with Weld County policy.
